Project to Improve Environmental Education Relating to Cherish Food(2020-2021)

With the aim of promoting cherish food, reduce waste and carbon, save energy and improve healthy diet, the main purpose of this project is to understand the domestic and international promotion cases and strategies of reducing food waste, so as publicize and promote cherish food environmental education. The project achievements include: (1) Research and analyze the domestic and international food waste reduction cases, and gather relevant information to plan for the future framework/ scenario of promoting cherish food environmental education. (2) Complete 16 pieces cherish food relevant information, popular science knowledge for dummies, short films. and the compilation of cherish food related information. (3) In order to take root in the future chef’s environment friendly concept, the project held "2020 Cherish Food Environmental Education Summer Camp", with a total of 60 students participated the event. (According to the Environmental Protection Administration’s Letter No. 1101069072, "2021 Cherish Food Environmental Education Summer Camp" was canceled in response to the infectious pneumonia epidemic (COVID-19). (4) Complete the investigation of domestic food and beverage department/school's cooperation willingness, and compile a series of teaching materiel based on summer camp's experience, which will be shared with the food and beverage teachers in Taiwan. Two cherish food trial lessons were held with schools to confirm whether the content is suitable for actual needs. (5) Complete two environmental education related videos, which were shot and produced in broadcast-grade HD (1920X1080i) high-definition specifications. Both have been uploaded to the EPAT YouTube channel, and the total number of views of the two videos has reached 100,000. (6) In order to encourage the catering industry to respond to the cherish food environmental education, one press conference, four briefing sessions has been hold, and the total number of cooperative stores has exceeded 216. Two "Cherish Food Commendation Activities" were also been organized to let the public know more about the cooperative stores. (7) Other common assistance: In order to present the project's economic benefits digitally, an expert consultation meeting was held to study and analyze the calculation methods. (8) Administrative cooperation: In order to expand the benefits of cherish food environmental education, the project not only assists in the production of green living, epidemic, communication, etc. related copywriting, data conversion, interview planning, illustration and video editing, but also assisting in processing many events.
